Food Forest

So, if you landed here you might be wondering, "what is a food forest?". According to project food forest, "A food forest, also called a forest garden, is a diverse planting of edible plants that attempts to mimic the ecosystems and patterns found in nature. Food forests are three dimensional designs, with life extending in all directions – up, down, and out."

In the past couple of years, climate change, diseases, and many other crisis have affected a large part of the planets population. The current food system is managed mostly by huge corporations that are more interested in their own profit than making good food readily available for the masses. We believe in empowering local communities to be self sustainable,, and having food sovereignty is an important step to achieve this goal.

Currently we are in a design phase, studying different local species that could thrive together. We are also looking for volunteers who wish to help us with the design, preparation, and/or execution. If you want to know more feel free to contact us.

Some details about our forest.

As you may already know, our cacao farm, composting, and hummingbird garden, are being managed in an adjacent private natural reserve. The designated area for our future food forest has approximately 2178 square meters (0.5 acres).
